How to design a winning team t-shirt

Great team tees aren’t just printed shirts — they’re identity statements. Here’s how we approach every design.

1. Start with the story

What does this team stand for? Capture it in 3 words before touching a single color.

2. Pick a palette that scales

Two main colors max. Bring in accents only at the artwork level.

3. Mascot or wordmark?

Wordmarks read across distances. Mascots tell stories. Pick based on where the shirt will be seen most.

4. Test print on a fold

Designs change on fabric. Always preview on a mockup before approving.

5. Roster placement

Last names look bigger than numbers. Place high on the back, not centered.
